Some of the Work we have been up to recently.

1. Paint Removal from Steel Piles – Killybegs Harbour, County Donegal

Ultra High Pressure Services carried out a high-risk marine project in Killybegs Harbour, where our crew was tasked with removing marine paint from steel piles submerged in the ocean. Using 3000 PSI ultra high-pressure water blasting, the team was safely suspended in a steel cage and lowered by crane into position. A full risk assessment was completed prior to the job. This essential surface preparation work was completed safely and efficiently under challenging conditions.

2. Deck Paint Removal – MV St. Bridget, Dublin Bay Cruises

We were engaged by Dublin Bay Cruises to remove multiple layers of old paint from the deck of the MV St. Bridget. The goal was to prepare the deck surface for a fresh coat of marine-grade paint. Using UHP technology, we stripped the layers cleanly and contained all debris using protective curtains, ensuring no environmental contamination in the harbour.

3. Swimming Pool Paint Removal – Private Residence, Dublin

At a private home in Dublin, we removed degrading epoxy or chlorinated rubber paint from a concrete swimming pool. Our team performed test patches and adjusted water pressure to the optimal level to avoid damaging the concrete substrate. The outcome was a fully cleaned and prepped pool surface, ready for repainting and a delighted client.

4. Hull Paint Removal – Celtic Isle, Westport Harbour

Sub-contracted by Mooney Boats Ltd., we completed hull paint removal work on the Celtic Isle fishing vessel in Westport Harbour. Our team blasted the paint off the hull just below the waterline using ultra high-pressure water blasting. This essential step prepared the surface for a new layer of marine paint. We are grateful for our ongoing relationship with Mooney Boats.

5. Adhesive Residue Removal – Prevalor Offshore Rescue Vessel

We were commissioned to remove adhesive residue from the outer skin of the Prevalor, a large Norwegian catamaran-style offshore rescue vessel. Access was facilitated using boom and platform equipment provided by JLG Hire Ltd.. The adhesive was safely removed using ultra high-pressure systems, leaving the surface ready for repainting.

6. Full Paint Removal – Island Discovery Ferry, Killybegs Harbour

Another project proudly delivered in partnership with Mooney Boats Ltd., this time involving a full paint removal on the Island Discovery, the Inishbofin Ferry. The project was carried out over several days in Killybegs Harbour, Co. Donegal. We used our latest UHP equipment, safety systems, and containment solutions to strip the vessel back to a clean surface ready for repainting. We’re thankful to Mooney Boats for their continued support and collaboration.
